CountBright Absolute Counting Beads for Flow Cytometry™

CountBright™ absolute counting beads are calibrated suspensions of microspheres that fluoresce brightly over a wide range of excitation and emission wavelengths (UV to 635 nm excitation and 385-800 nm emission). CountBright™ Absolute Count Beads were mixed with cell samples and analyzed by flow cytometry. By comparing the ratio of bead events to cellular events, the absolute number of cells in the sample can be calculated

Penicillin-streptomycin (10,000 U/mL)
The solution contained 10,000 units/mL of penicillin and 10,000 μg/mL of streptomycin. Antibiotics – Penicillin and streptomycin have a potent combined antimicrobial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and can be used to prevent bacterial contamination of cell cultures. Penicillin was originally purified from the fungus Penicillium and works by directly interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall and indirectly by triggering the release of enzymes to further alter the cell wall. Streptomycin was originally purified from Streptomyces gray. Its mechanism of action is binding to the 30S subunit of the bacterial ribosome, which in turn inhibits protein synthesis and leads to the death of sensitive bacteria.
